As part of work of the Parliamentary Committee for Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue, which PACEC cooperates with, there was an official farewell of Charbel Macaron, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon in Warsaw.
The meeting constituted a possibility to summarise so far cooperation and to set some perspectives for the future. On 7 December we participated in a meeting of a parliamentary committee led by deputy Paweł Skutecki. The meeting attended representatives of diplomatic posts of United Arab Emirates, Libya, and the Kingdom of Marocco, and also Marek Magierowski, the undersecretary of state for economic diplomacy. The social side was represented by Przemysław Skrzypek, the PACEC President and Jaromir Łatuszuński, the President of ICAR Foundation.
The Chairman Paweł Skutecki thanked Charbel Macaron for an active participation in parliamentary committee work and gave him a symbolic souvenir from a May visit to Bydgoszcz. Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon also thanked for cooperation. He stated that in spite of advancement in diplomatic structures (title ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon in Australia), he is sad to leave Poland and such amazing people he met here. The President of PACEC in his speech stated that it is His Majesty Charbel Macaron who one and a half year ago inspired him to establish the Club. Then he gave the Lebanon diplomat a diploma with the title of an Honourable Member of the Polish-Arabic Cultural and Economical Club.
After the official part a long discussion at the subject of the current political and economic situation in the Middle East region started.
