Long-lasting cooperation requires solid foundation. For that reason co-organised by PACEC the one week stay of the Republic of Iraq Members of Parliament in Poland was enriched by a meeting with Primate of Poland, Archbishop Wojciech Polak.
No other meeting was so exciting for the delegates as the meeting with the head of the Polish Church. The delegation consisted of both Christians and Muslims. The numerous delegation was hosted in the Palace of the Archbishop. Priest Primate was lively interested in the social and humanitarian situation of Iraqi citizens. The leader of the delegation Abdulbari Fares Al-Zebary defined Christians as an extremely important element of social sphere of the Republic of Iraq, he at the same time ensured that after the victory in Mosul almost at the entire territory of Iraq it is safe now. Al-Zebary urged also Christians through Priest Primate not to leave the state and not to break up their relations.
The delegation visited also the Cathedral in Gniezno and got to know with the history of the origins of Poland. The Chairwoman Sameerah Jaafar Ali Al-Musawi from the family of Mahomet, in particular was moved by the history of life and martyrdom of Saint Wojciech. In her view the history of Poland depends not only on political engagement but also religious commitment of young Poles.
