After two active days in Warsaw, we took the delegation of Members of Parliament of the Republic of Iraq for trip to Wielkopolska and Kujawy. We visited affiliated by the Polish Academy of Science: the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center. In the next days we met with local authorities of the town of Gniezno, the Voivode of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the President of Toruń.
In Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center the Iraqi deputies visited chosen laboratories, where technically advanced research and development IT projects are conducted. They inquired about infrastructure and organisational solutions. The next day there was a meeting with the Primate of Poland, where humanitarian situation in Iraq was discussed. Just after the meeting there was a lunch with local authorities of the town of Gniezno during which we talked about economic potential of the region and possibilities of cooperation. On Friday our delegation was hosted by the Voivode of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. The following day we met with the President of the Toruń.
While sightseeing Toruń we were astonished by a great gesture by the Chairwoman Sameerah Jaafar Ali Al-Musawi who laid flowers under the monument of Mikołaj Kopernik.
The one week stay of the Iraqi delegation apart from the political dimension was also of significant economic one. We met among others with the largest food manufacturers from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. We visited also a health resort “Solanki” in Inowrocław where we talked about the possibility of cooperation in the area of medical tourism. We met also with chosen entrepreneurs from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship.
